About Me

From Sleep Struggles to Whole Health Advocacy

First of all, I have never slept well. Even as a kid I seldom made it through the night. I called it “dreaming awake”. Later I  was diagnosed with ADHD. I choose not to rely on medication.  The great thing about ADHD it pushes you to constantly learn a lot of different things. (I’m sure the saying a Jack of all trades is from someone with ADHD)  One of the paths it led me to was nutrition and natural childbirth.

I loved coaching young families and assisting them in delivering their babies. It’s tons of fun, especially the first-timers.  However, two events happened that forced different paths. My family was growing and babies come whenever they decide regardless of their due dates.

A New Path

My daughter at 14 months was admitted to the ER because she could not breathe. The doctor there gave her a shot of epinephrine and sent us home. She almost died. The next day we found ourselves in the ICU for a week. The whole time I was there it was one bad experience after another. I decided to go back to school for respiratory.

From CPAP Therapy to Holistic Approaches

All along I was still struggling with sleep issues myself, so I explored various solutions. I was so tired my bones ached. Like a bad flu. Doctors had no answers for me.  Surrounded by CPAP machines, I decided to give it a try, and within a week I found relief from my bone acheing exhaustion. At this time I did not have Sleep Apnea.  After that and witnessing its transformative power in patients, I became a firm believer in PAP therapy.

As I aged and faced menopause, mild sleep apnea added another layer of complexity. Unwilling to accept defeat, I merged my love for nutrition and sleep, exploring holistic approaches to manage sleep apnea. I do not use a cpap for the most part. Which is why I explore other ways to work with sleep apnea on this site.

I started using a varied approach with my sleep apnea clients. Not just PAP therapy but to look beyond. What else can they do to improve the most important component of health? Sleep. I believe sleep is the most important thing to get.

Professional Journey: Coaching, Management, and Advocacy

Blessed with opportunities, I became a Clinical Manager, where my love for coaching and whole health found a home. Working with patients, clinicians, and doctors, I integrated my holistic approach in to managing sleep-related issues.

Conclusion: Empowering Through Experience and Warmth

My story is one of resilience, reminding us of the deep connection between sleep, health, and happiness. Through sharing my journey, I hope to spread warmth and knowledge. Join me in embracing the power of whole health and the joy of restful sleep. Together, we can navigate life’s twists with a smile! 😊
